Pakistan finds itself in one of the worst economic crises of its history. The macro situation is bleak – with high unemployment and inflation, falling investment, excessive fiscal deficit, and an economy trapped with a deteriorating external balance position and a collapsing currency. The micro-situation – with rising demand for quality education, a young and energetic workforce, and a growing middle class – may offer some potential, but can it be realized?
